Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cam Kran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cam Kran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Douglas!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kran tries a head kick but it misses.

Kran gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Douglas to score an easy takedown into full guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Douglas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kran swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kran seems keen to control Douglas's posture.
Kran wants to sweep here but Douglas controlling him for the moment.
Douglas postures up.
Kran keeping moving, preventing Douglas from controlling successfully.
Douglas wants to stand but Kran has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Douglas works over Kran's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Cam Kran has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Douglas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Douglas postures up in Kran's guard and throws a big left but Kran blocks it.
Kran lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Douglas!

Douglas wants to get back to his feet.
Douglas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Kran breaks from Douglas's wrist control and lands an elbow.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee warns Douglas that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Kran lands with some strikes.

Kran goes for an armbar but Douglas turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Douglas.

Kran working for a triangle but Douglas defends it easily.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Kran looking for a sweep. Not yet Kran, not yet.
Douglas throws a strike but Kran rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Kran lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Kran is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kran's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Kran could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Douglas is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Kran passes into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kran lands a nice short elbow.

Kran is nestled in close to Douglas, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Kran works his way into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Douglas is working to avoid the ground and pound but Kran connects with a decent elbow.

Kran tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Douglas takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cam Kran dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Kran fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Douglas avoids it really well and circles away.

Kran closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Douglas to the mat! Douglas manages to get full guard.
Douglas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kran. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kran is looking to work some ground and pound but Douglas has wrist control.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Douglas can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cam Kran overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Douglas utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Kran throws an elbow that misses. Douglas uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kran's guard. Nice move by Douglas!

Kran working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Douglas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Kran is tightening it up a little... Douglas has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Douglas reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Douglas taps out! Nice BJJ there by Kran!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Cam Kran!
