The crowd seem to be enjoying Rodriguez's choice of entrance music: disturbed- pain redefined. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Carlos Rodriguez enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez shoots for a takedown but Szczerbiec saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Szczerbiec throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Rodriguez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Szczerbiec moves into range and clinches up with Rodriguez.
Szczerbiec is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Rodriguez is defending well for now.
Rodriguez tries to score a body lock takedown but Szczerbiec shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rodriguez's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Szczerbiec connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Rodriguez scrambles back to his feet.

Szczerbiec thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Rodriguez if he has to take too many more of those.

That kick from Szczerbiec tenderised Rodriguez's leg. Rodriguez is trying to keep his angry face on.
Rodriguez gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Szczerbiec gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
