Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 16 - 1, fighting out of London, Carlos Strikes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Joonatan Valasvatsa!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Glass and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strikes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Valasvatsa looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Valasvatsa shoots in and bounces Strikes off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Strikes controlling Valasvatsa's posture.
Valasvatsa tries to free his leg and advance position but Strikes is retaining full guard.
Strikes is controlling Valasvatsa's posture.
Valasvatsa won't allow Strikes to sweep him here.
Valasvatsa advances position into side control!
Strikes pushes Valasvatsa away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Valasvatsa gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Valasvatsa tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Valasvatsa is looking to take a break and control but Strikes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Strikes gets back to half guard.

Valasvatsa is working for a submission of some sort.
Strikes is looking for a sweep. Valasvatsa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Strikes pushes Valasvatsa off looking to stand but Valasvatsa dives back in and keeps control.

Valasvatsa is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Strikes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Valasvatsa.
Strikes is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Valasvatsa seems to be looking for submissions.

Valasvatsa seems to be working for a kimura but Strikes defends the submission attempt.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Valasvatsa is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Strikes has managed to free his arm - good work.

Valasvatsa looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Strikes wants to control but Valasvatsa is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Valasvatsa works his way into full mount!
BOOM! Valasvatsa connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Strikes is bucking up trying to escape but Valasvatsa cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Valasvatsa can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Strikes is looking to escape.

Valasvatsa wants to finish this one by submission but Strikes is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Valasvatsa.

Valasvatsa is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Strikes has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Strikes!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Strikes working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Strikes preventing the sweep.
Strikes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Valasvatsa on the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Valasvatsa is trying to control the position but Strikes postures up.

Valasvatsa had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Strikes defends it easily.

Valasvatsa pushes a forearm under Strikes's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Strikes is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Joonatan Valasvatsa!
Our winner, Joonatan Valasvatsa, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
