Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Maccarone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan McCarthy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan McCarthy has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Charlie Maccarone's chin.

With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Charlie Maccarone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan McCarthy!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maccarone on the wrong end of a nice jab.
McCarthy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Maccarone manages to avoid it.
McCarthy avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
McCarthy fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Maccarone on the side of the head.
Maccarone throws a low kick but McCarthy moves out of range easily.
Maccarone cracks the inside of McCarthy's front leg.
Maccarone throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Maccarone misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A head kick from Maccarone lands but McCarthy takes it in his stride.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McCarthy cracks Maccarone with a right hand to the side of the head.
McCarthy slips a straight right by Maccarone.
Maccarone throws a series of punches but McCarthy avoids them all with ease.
Maccarone with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling McCarthy to score with a decent uppercut.
Maccarone takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
McCarthy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Maccarone.

Maccarone drops his hands momentarily and McCarthy takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
The fighters circling - Maccarone throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Maccarone takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
McCarthy scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Maccarone doesn't seem bothered though.

Maccarone throws a series of punches but McCarthy avoids them all with ease.

This has been an exciting period of action!
McCarthy catches Maccarone with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

McCarthy stuns Maccarone with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Maccarone throws a front kick aimed at McCarthy's knee but McCarthy avoids it well.
Maccarone takes one to the side of the head.
Maccarone throws a leg kick that is checked
and McCarthy counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
McCarthy throws a series of punches but Maccarone moves out of range.
McCarthy connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Maccarone plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Maccarone moves out of range of the strikes.
A slow jab from Maccarone misses its intended target.
Maccarone throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
McCarthy connects with a body shot that sends Maccarone's belly button to the back.
Maccarone is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McCarthy.

Maccarone throws a leg kick but McCarthy sees it coming and moves out of range.
Maccarone really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
McCarthy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A solid body kick from Maccarone.
Maccarone misses with a leg kick
and McCarthy counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Maccarone thinking.
McCarthy keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Maccarone walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Maccarone is rocked!
Maccarone takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Oh Maccarone is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McCarthy is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Maccarone flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Maccarone is out cold! McCarthy holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
