Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Rebel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Rebel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Rua!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Eddie Farnsworth and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rebel is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Rua's half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Rebel thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rua's head.
Rua wants to control but Rebel is keeping busy.

Rebel not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Rebel prevents Rua from improving his position.
Rebel lands strikes from half guard.
Rua has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rebel is working away from the top position though.
Rua tries to kick Rebel off but Rebel keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Rua avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rebel.
Rebel lands strikes from half guard.
Rebel looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rua with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Rebel takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Rebel drops an elbow to the side of Rua's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rebel slips a nice elbow through Rua's hands, connecting with Rua's forehead.

Rua is still in real trouble! Can Rebel finish him?
Rebel tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rua knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Rebel thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Rebel throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Rua trying to hold on to Rebel's head to control him but Rebel postures up.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Rebel scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Rebel not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Rebel throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Rebel is nestled in close to Rua, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Rebel lands a nice short elbow.

Rebel seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Rua is looking for a sweep. Rebel is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rebel has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rebel is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rebel connects with a nice short shot to Rua's temple.
Rua pushes Rebel off looking to stand but Rebel dives back in and keeps control.
Rebel is thwarting Rua's attempts to control the position.
Rua looks gassed!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rebel lands a big elbow - Rua is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Rebel!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Rebel!
A relieved looking Mark Rebel thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
