The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cullen throws a head kick that misses
and Manoel counters with a lovely straight right hand!

It looks like Kaely Cullen has been cut.
Cullen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cullen throws a leg kick
and Manoel counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Cullen misses the body punch
and Manoel counters with a stiff right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Manoel ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Cullen looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Kaely Cullen's cut is getting worse.
Manoel takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Manoel is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Manoel throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Manoel takes a swing at Cullen's ribcage but misses.
Manoel fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Manoel throws a body punch but Cullen moves out of range.
Manoel misses with a hook.
Manoel lands a right hook to the body.
Manoel fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Manoel cracks Cullen with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Kaely Cullen's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Cullen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Cullen is breathing heavily.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Manoel is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Cullen's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Manoel slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Manoel is trying to keep Cullen in close.
Manoel has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Manoel has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Cullen off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Cullen misses with a head kick.
Manoel lands with a kick to the temple. Cullen shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Cullen has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Manoel finds it's way round the side to connect with Cullen's head.

Jeez, Kaely Cullen's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Cullen takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Kaely Cullen's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

A relieved looking Antonio Manoel thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
