And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ikoa Oyama!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Atkins and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cannon throws a jab but it's blocked by Oyama.
Oyama shoots in for a takedown but Cannon shows good takedown defense.
Cannon cracks a nice hook into Oyama's ribs.
Cannon dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Oyama steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cannon.
Cannon throws a shot to the body.
Oyama takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Matthew Cannon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cannon fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

It looks like Ikoa Oyama has been cut.
Cannon displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Oyama throws out the jab.

Cannon is trying to escape the mount but Oyama keeps good control and instead manages to take Cannon's back.

Oyama is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cannon defends well.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cannon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Oyama can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cannon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Matthew Cannon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cannon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
