PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hulk Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hogan has chosen The real American as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brock Lesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hulk Hogan!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hogan blocks a low kick nicely.
Hogan dives in and grabs Lesnar's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lesnar pushes down on Hogan's head and hops out.
A punch combination from Lesnar misses.

Lesnar forces Hogan back against the cage and clinches.
Lesnar dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

Lesnar successfully pulls guard.
Hogan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Hogan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hogan controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Lesnar keeping moving, preventing Hogan from controlling successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hogan stops Lesnar from standing up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Hulk Hogan hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Hogan shoots in for a double leg but Lesnar sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
The fighters circle momentarily. Lesnar darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.


It looks like Hulk Hogan has been cut.
No joy there for Hogan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hogan looks to land a combination but Lesnar avoids it well.

Hogan closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lesnar to the mat! Lesnar manages to get full guard.
Lesnar controls Hogan momentarily but Hogan frees himself.
Lesnar wants to get back to his feet but Hogan is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hogan engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Lesnar throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hogan dives in and grabs Lesnar's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lesnar pushes down on Hogan's head and hops out.
Brock Lesnar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hulk Hogan.
Lesnar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hogan throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hogan fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Hogan looks gassed!
Lesnar defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hogan.

Lesnar lands a big right hand that sends Hogan crashing to the mat! Lesnar stays standing though and waves Hogan back to his feet!
Lesnar looks to land a combination but Hogan avoids it well.
Lesnar shoots for a double leg takedown but Hogan sprawls well. He's pushed Lesnar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hogan shoots for a takedown but Lesnar saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lesnar throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Lesnar shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lesnar showed some decent athleticism there.
Lesnar working over Hogan with some ground and pound. Hogan looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Lesnar decides to stand up.
Lesnar rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hogan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hogan throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Hogan tries for a takedown but Lesnar sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Lesnar drops Hogan with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Hogan looks back up at him and smiles so Lesnar waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Hogan is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lesnar cracks Hogan with a left hook right on the temple and Hogan goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Lesnar lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Hogan is OK!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Brock Lesnar!
