PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bogdan Wasilcov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masakatsu Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomi has chosen Lose Yourself as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wasilcov misses with a two punch combination.

Gomi shoots in and bounces Wasilcov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Gomi looking to sit in guard and control but Wasilcov gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Wasilcov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gomi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Wasilcov seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Bogdan Wasilcov has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Gomi closes the distance and clinches.

Gomi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Gomi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Gomi drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wasilcov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gomi has Wasilcov in his guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Wasilcov feints and as Gomi raises his hands in defense, Wasilcov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Wasilcov leaves Gomi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That kick from Gomi tenderised Wasilcov's leg. Wasilcov is trying to keep his angry face on.

Gomi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Wasilcov manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gomi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Gomi is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Wasilcov is trying to escape and Gomi transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Wasilcov is forced to tap! Nice work there by Gomi! Very nice indeed!
