Emelianenko comes to the cage accompanied by Enea Vollare Mezzo. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Emelianenko darts in and clinches Smolarek up against the cage.
Smolarek is trying to stall.

Smolarek jumps guard and drags Emelianenko to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

and Emelianenko counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Emelianenko.

Smolarek pushes Emelianenko back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Emelianenko is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Smolarek gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Smolarek wants to stand but Emelianenko has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Smolarek gets to his feet. Emelianenko looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and Emelianenko holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Still in the clinch, Smolarek scores with a nice short uppercut.
