Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pat Barry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Squire Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pat Barry has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Squire Thompson!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Barry tries to avoid it but Thompson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Barry to the ground. Barry escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Barry avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Barry gets caught flat footed, as Thompson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Barry scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Thompson looks to land a body kick but Barry moved away.
Thompson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Barry swivels and escapes.
Thompson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Pat Barry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Squire Thompson.
Thompson drops his hands momentarily and Barry takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
A low kick from Thompson is predictable there
and Barry counters with a solid body kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Barry counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Thompson shoots in but Barry avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A nice leg kick lands there from Barry.
Barry misses the shot to the body.
Barry connects with a right hand. Thompson shakes it off.
Barry displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Thompson.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown but Barry shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Thompson dives in and grabs Barry's left leg, looking for a takedown. Barry pushes down on Thompson's head and hops out.

Barry misses with a hook to the ribs.
Thompson is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Thompson prevents a body shot from Barry.
Thompson takes a knee to the side of the body.

Thompson tries to score a body lock takedown but Barry shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Thompson wants to get back to striking at distance but Barry won't allow it.
Barry lands a damaging elbow.
Barry lands a nice knee to the body.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Barry creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Barry presses Thompson against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Barry lands an elbow that stopped Thompson in his tracks for a moment.
A nice right hand lands inside from Barry.
Barry misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Thompson takes a knee to the side of the body.
A short body shot lands from Barry as the two fighters clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Barry.
Barry lands with a light punch inside.
Barry lands a right hand that snaps the head of Thompson backwards.

Barry connects with a nasty looking knee right to Thompson's face.
Barry gets through Thompson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Barry with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Barry throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Barry lands an uppercut.
Barry crunches a lovely knee into Thompson's ribcage.
Barry stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Barry with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Thompson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Barry walks away with a smile on his face. Thompson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Barry fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Thompson tries to clinch but Barry moves away
and Barry counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Thompson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Barry. Barry obviously looking to wear him down.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Thompson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Barry.
Thompson moves to clinch but Barry breaks away
and Barry counters with a stiff right hand.

It looks like Squire Thompson has been cut.
Thompson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Barry.
Pat Barry is winning the standup battle so far.
Barry missing with a left hand there. Thompson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Barry connects with a body shot that sends Thompson's belly button to the back.
Thompson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Barry counters with a thumping low kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Barry lands a nice shot to the body.
Thompson is breathing heavily.
Barry feints and then cracks Thompson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Thompson down.
Barry cracks Thompson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Barry fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Thompson.
Barry misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Thompson.
Thompson takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Barry! This one is all over!
