Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Lotus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lotus's entrance music is Eye of the tiger. A fine choice. Belfort is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Architect. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lotus.

and Lotus counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Lotus is looking to stand up but Belfort won't let him.

Lotus wants to get up but he can't break Belfort's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Lotus shoots in looking for a takedown. Belfort tries to sprawl out of it but Lotus keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Belfort manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Lotus throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Belfort tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lotus is in Belfort's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Lotus tries to close the distance and clinch up but Belfort swats him away and circles back towards the center.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Belfort throws a nice looking combination but Lotus bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Lotus feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Belfort is just content to waste time from the top position. Lotus takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Belfort drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lotus manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Belfort has Lotus in his guard.
Tommy Lotus overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
