The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pinsent keeps the fight on the outside.

Machida clinches up against the cage.
Pinsent drops down looking for an ankle pick but Machida pulls his leg out and moves away.

Pinsent working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Machida doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Machida manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Machida really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pinsent. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pinsent had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Machida is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Pinsent Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Machida's back instead.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Machida tries to escape but Pinsent has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Pinsent is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Machida won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Pinsent off his unconscious opponent!
