Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Doc Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Thomas might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Lunatic Fringe by Red Ryder. Hardy has chosen Knowledge Be The Key as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Bruno Lombardi and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy misses with a combination
and Thomas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Daniel Hardy has been cut.
Thomas throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hardy.
Thomas fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Hardy throws a right hand that misses
and Thomas counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Thomas lands a right hook to the body.
Thomas wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hardy needs to keep his hands up - Thomas had a free shot at his head there.

and Thomas counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Thomas is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Thomas fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hardy on the side of the head.
Thomas lands a jab-cross combination.
Thomas is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
A head kick from Thomas lands but Hardy takes it in his stride.

Thomas makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Hardy wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Thomas.
Hardy takes an elbow to the temple.
Thomas presses Hardy against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
A right handed body shot lands from Thomas.
Thomas wants the takedown. Hardy is fighting it off but Thomas persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hardy's guard against the cage.
Thomas passes Hardy's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Thomas has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Thomas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Hardy is bucking up trying to escape but Thomas cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Thomas is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Thomas extends the arm and Hardy is forced to tap!
