Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kid Vera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nathan Edwards!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick from Vera lands but Edwards takes it in his stride.

It looks like Nathan Edwards has been cut.

Edwards moves into the clinch.

Edwards has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Vera regains guard immediately.
Vera looking to control.
Edwards lands a couple of digs.
Vera wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Edwards is looking to work some ground and pound but Vera has wrist control.
Edwards throws and elbow that misses. Vera uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Edwards's guard. Nice move by Vera!
Vera in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Vera stands up and waves to Edwards to follow him.
Vera tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nathan Edwards seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Edwards feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vera is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Vera kicks Edwards off and gets to his feet.
Edwards throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Vera counters with a huge left! Edwards is in big trouble! He's backing up but Vera isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Edwards from any more damage. A dominating finish by Vera!
