PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pithe Canthropus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paco Taco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Canthropus kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Pizzaman - Trippin' On Sunshine. Taco has chosen Angel Doze - Clack Clack as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Pithe Canthropus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paco Taco!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Sano and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Canthropus drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Taco looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Canthropus with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Canthropus shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Taco pinned against the cage. Taco gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Canthropus stalks Taco and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Taco's face. Taco staggers backwards, shaken.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pithe Canthropus.
Well Canthropus has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
