The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Arteta.
A short right from Arteta.
A right handed body shot lands from Arteta.
Strikes lands with a light punch inside.
Strikes tries to circle away but Arteta has him pinned against the cage.
Arteta misses with a punch on the inside.
Arteta blocks a body shot from Strikes.
Arteta's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Arteta lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

It looks like Carlos Strikes has been cut.
Arteta lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Strikes backwards.
Arteta makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Strikes stalling in the clinch but Arteta improves position.
Strikes misses with a hook from the clinch.

Strikes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Arteta counters with a right hand to the body.
Arteta looks to score with a jab to the body but Strikes is just out of range.

and Arteta counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Arteta.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Arteta lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Arteta swings wildly with an uppercut but Strikes uses good head movement to avoid it.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Arteta swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Strikes misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Strikes blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Arteta lands a shot to the body.
Strikes is trying to break the clinch but Arteta is controlling him.
A bit of stalling here from Strikes.

Strikes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Strikes wants to clinch but Arteta slips to the side
and Arteta connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Arteta uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Arteta clinches up against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Strikes with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Arteta makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Strikes wants to stall.
Strikes misses with a hook to the ribs.
Arteta lands a hook that snaps the head of Strikes backwards.

That has opened up Carlos Strikes's cut even more.
Strikes looks gassed!
Strikes tries to break free but Arteta pushes him back against the cage.
Strikes is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Arteta lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Strikes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Arteta scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Arteta digs a good body shot into Strikes's ribs.
Arteta paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Arteta scores with a crisp jab that stopped Strikes in his tracks.
Strikes walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Arteta swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
