The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okita misses with a straight left.
Lotus misses with a wild combination.
Nice cross by Lotus.
A cross from Okita lands.
Okita throws a shot from downtown. Lotus moves away and avoids it.
Lotus throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Okita.
Okita slips a jab and a cross from Lotus.
Okita connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Lotus's hands.
Lotus slips a straight right by Okita.
Okita takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Okita lands a body shot.
Okita scores with a takedown into Lotus's guard.
Okita looking to pass the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lotus has an active guard here but Okita has managed to pass into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lotus wants to improve his position but Okita is controlling well.
Okita is pressing down on Lotus's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lotus is holding on for now.
Okita passes into side control, despite Lotus's attempt to control the position.
Okita tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Lotus manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Okita slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Okita is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lotus defends well.
Lotus wants to get up but he can't break Okita's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Okita is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Lotus rolls with it to try and escape but Okita cranks on the arm and Lotus is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
