Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jonathan Riseman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riseman feints and then cracks Johnson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Johnson down.
Johnson swats away the attempt to clinch by Riseman.
Riseman tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Riseman wants to clinch up but Johnson keeps it at a distance.
Johnson closes the distance and clinches up with Riseman, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes Riseman against the cage but Riseman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Riseman tries a head kick but it misses.

Johnson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Riseman circles away quickly and effectively.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Riseman sprawls well. Riseman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Johnson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Riseman looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Riseman looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Riseman!

Johnson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Riseman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Johnson swings around for an armbar but Riseman sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Johnson's guard.

Riseman works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Riseman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
