The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
blan shoots in and drives through. Alfred sprawls well.

Alfred fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. blan sprawls well initially but Alfred persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Alfred wants to free his trapped foot but blan is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
blan looks like he's trying to stand up.
Alfred looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Alfred moves nicely into side control.
blan is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Alfred asserts his dominance and retains side control.
blan prevents Alfred from moving into mount.
