Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jukkis Karvakorva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Blitzkrieg Rage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karvakorva comes to the cage accompanied by Living dead superstar. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Jukkis Karvakorva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 2, fighting out of Hilo, Blitzkrieg Rage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Rage or perhaps it was just good defense by Karvakorva which made him look bad.

Karvakorva clinches.
Karvakorva blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
A battle for position here, against the cage.

Karvakorva gets control of Rage's arms and successfully pulls guard. Karvakorva will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Rage drives through with a takedown into guard.

Rage stands up from Karvakorva's guard - Rage perhaps looking for a knockout.
Rage keeps the fight on the outside.
Rage steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Karvakorva. That one must have hurt.

Karvakorva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Karvakorva lands in his opponent's guard.

Karvakorva has gone for a leg lock! Rage slips out almost immediately though and dives into Karvakorva's guard.
Karvakorva controls Rage momentarily but Rage frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Rage drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Karvakorva takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Rage controls the position.
Rage landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Rage wants to lay and pray for a moment but Karvakorva keeps working.
Karvakorva stops Rage from passing to mount.
Karvakorva can't do much from the bottom here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Blitzkrieg Rage will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Rage avoids the head kick by Karvakorva.

Karvakorva has managed to clinch.
Rage tries to score a body lock takedown but Karvakorva shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

It looks like Blitzkrieg Rage has been cut.
Rage tries to pull guard but Karvakorva won't allow it.
Karvakorva unloads a knee to the mid-section. Rage lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Rage is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Karvakorva is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Karvakorva can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rage is looking to escape.

Rage keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Karvakorva goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Rage turns into him and now he's in Karvakorva's guard.
Karvakorva pulls Rage in close to his closed guard and prevents Rage from doing any damage or advancing position.
Rage wants to control from the top but Karvakorva keeps moving.
Karvakorva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Rage flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Rage trying to hold on to Karvakorva's head to control him but Karvakorva postures up.
Rage wants to get back to his feet.

Karvakorva is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rage doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Karvakorva.
Rage wants to improve his position but Karvakorva is controlling well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Karvakorva wants to pass the guard but Rage is defending well.

Karvakorva shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Karvakorva showed some decent athleticism there.
Karvakorva is controlling the pace.
Karvakorva is looking to stall here but Rage recovers full guard.
Karvakorva looking to sit in guard and control but Rage gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Karvakorva lands a nice looking body kick.
Rage changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Karvakorva tries to avoid it but Rage manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Karvakorva to the ground. Karvakorva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rage tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Karvakorva swivels and escapes.
Jukkis Karvakorva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Rage counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Karvakorva!

Rage has control of Karvakorva's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Karvakorva regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Rage looking to control but Karvakorva is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Karvakorva is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Karvakorva tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Rage connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Karvakorva can't escape the position.
Karvakorva is trying to reverse the position but instead Rage has taken his back - oops!

Karvakorva looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Karvakorva is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Rage gets his way!
Rage takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Rage is trying to stick to Karvakorva's back but Karvakorva is turning into Rage. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rage's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Karvakorva.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rage being controlled here, momentarily.
Rage keeping moving, preventing Karvakorva from controlling successfully.
Karvakorva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rage swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Karvakorva trying to control but Rage is working from the bottom.

Rage working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Karvakorva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Karvakorva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Karvakorva lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rage!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jukkis Karvakorva.
Well Karvakorva has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
