And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Cage!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cage lands a glancing blow to the side of Barayev's head.
Cage just misses with a punch to the body.
Cage lands with a nice body punch.
A right-left combo lands from Cage.
Cage swats away the attempt to clinch by Barayev.
Cage throws a quick inside leg kick.
Barayev is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Cage.

Barayev is rocked!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Cage, right into the meat.
Oh Barayev is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Cage stuffs the takedown attempt from Barayev. Barayev gets slowly back to his feet.
Barayev seems to have got his legs back now.
Barayev closes the distance and clinches up with Cage, looking for a takedown. Barayev pushes Cage against the cage but Cage circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Cage sizes up Barayev with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Barayev shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cage but Cage pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fouad Barayev. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cage fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Barayev looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nice sprawl there from Cage as Barayev shoots in.
Barayev is breathing heavily.
Cage scores with a sloppy right hand. Barayev should have avoided that one.
Cage dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Barayev. That did some damage!

Barayev stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Cage.
Cage is looking to slow Barayev down with leg kicks.
Barayev takes a jab right on the kisser.
Barayev moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Barayev lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Barayev closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cage to the mat! Cage manages to get full guard.
Barayev trying to control the position from guard on top but Cage is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Barayev drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cage dives on top into guard.
Cage really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barayev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Barayev had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Cage is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Barayev Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cage's back instead.
Barayev is hanging on to Cage's back as he tries to escape.
Barayev wants to control but Cage is keeping busy.
Cage is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Cage trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barayev is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Cage is tapping out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Fouad Barayev!
Fouad Barayev retains his middleweight title!
