And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Van Kelly!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kelly walks forward, straight into a front kick from Roosevelt.
A decent looking cross lands there for Roosevelt.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Roosevelt - that will leave a mark!
Kelly scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Roosevelt pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kelly throws a series of punches but Roosevelt avoids them all with ease.
Roosevelt lands a head kick!
Kelly looks gassed!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Roosevelt throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Roosevelt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Truman Roosevelt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Roosevelt is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kelly lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Kelly moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Roosevelt looks for the body kick but Kelly saw that one coming.

Roosevelt takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Kelly moves out of range as Roosevelt strikes.

Kelly seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Roosevelt does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kelly is taking a breather. Roosevelt says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Roosevelt is looking for a sweep. Kelly is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Roosevelt makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Roosevelt.

Roosevelt has his feet on Kelly's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kelly lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kelly.

Kelly darts in and clinches Roosevelt up against the cage.
Roosevelt misses with an elbow strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Truman Roosevelt dominated that round.

Kelly changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Roosevelt - that will leave a mark!
Roosevelt defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kelly.

Roosevelt has managed to clinch.
Kelly drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Roosevelt lands a nice elbow.
Kelly tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Truman Roosevelt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Van Kelly.
Roosevelt gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
With the fighters up against the cage, Roosevelt throws an elbow but misses.

Kelly is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Roosevelt gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Kelly managing to block the knees to the body from Roosevelt.
Kelly jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Roosevelt walks away with a smile on his face. Kelly gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Roosevelt throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Roosevelt misses with some punches.
Kelly can't get the takedown.

Roosevelt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kelly takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Kelly lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Roosevelt tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Kelly counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Truman Roosevelt is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kelly wants to clinch up but Roosevelt keeps it at a distance.
Van Kelly is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kelly throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Roosevelt throws a half hearted mid kick.
A punch combination from Kelly misses.
Roosevelt on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Roosevelt throws a sloppy head kick and Kelly moves out of range easily.
Roosevelt lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Kelly will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kelly misses with a jab, cross combination.
Roosevelt darts in trying to clinch
and Kelly counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Roosevelt thows a left - swing and a miss!
Roosevelt tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Kelly counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kelly shoots in for a double leg but Roosevelt sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A slapping body kick lands there for Roosevelt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kelly avoids the head kick by Roosevelt.
Roosevelt closes the distance but Kelly moves to the side
and Kelly counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Roosevelt thinking.

and Kelly counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Kelly avoids the elbow strike from Roosevelt, against the cage.
Roosevelt lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kelly is trying to control. Roosevelt wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Truman Roosevelt is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kelly trying to pass the guard but Roosevelt defending well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Kelly uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Kelly darts in trying to clinch
and Roosevelt counters with a nice body kick.
Kelly throws a right hand that Roosevelt ducks under and follows up with a left that Roosevelt also avoids with ease.
A head kick misses from Roosevelt.
Kelly moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Roosevelt throws a predictable looking body shot
and Kelly counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Roosevelt keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Kelly darts in and clinches Roosevelt up against the cage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Roosevelt misses with an elbow over the top.

Kelly wants the takedown. Roosevelt is fighting it off but Kelly persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Roosevelt's guard against the cage.
Roosevelt is adopting a defensive guard.
Kelly trying to control but Roosevelt is working from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Van Kelly comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Roosevelt has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
