Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Flay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshi Sushi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flay comes to the ring accompanied by Iron Chef. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flay misses with a kick to the body.

Flay throws a jab but it's blocked by Sushi.
Sushi bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Flay is breathing heavily.
Sushi scores with a spinning back kick!
Flay moves out of range of the body kick.
Flay throws a lazy right hand but Sushi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Flay takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Crunch! Sushi slams his shin into Flay's torso.

Flay takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Flay is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Sushi's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Flay is trying to trip Sushi. He has hold of a leg but Sushi is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Flay persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Sushi is going olschool here, as he tries to force Flay to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Flay shrugs it off.

Flay moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Sushi has worked his arm free - good work by Sushi!

Flay is looking to pass Sushi's guard but actually Sushi recovers to full guard.

Sushi has his foot on Flay's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Flay works his way back into a safe position though.

Flay stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sushi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sushi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Flay doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Sushi is tightening it up a little... Flay has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Flay reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Flay taps out! nice BJJ there by Sushi!
