Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tank Abbott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko comes to the cage accompanied by Enea Vollare Mezzo. Tank Abbott will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fedor Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tank Abbott!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abbott tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Emelianenko was well out of range. Poor timing from Abbott.
A combination from Abbott does no damage.
Emelianenko bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Abbott throws a body punch but Emelianenko moves out of range.
Abbott lands a nice looking body shot.
Abbott thows a body shot but no joy.
Emelianenko works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.


It looks like Tank Abbott has been cut.
Abbott swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Emelianenko slips a straight right by Abbott.
Abbott misses with a wild combination.
Emelianenko takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Abbott misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Emelianenko ducks under a wild hook from Abbott.
Abbott walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Abbott lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Abbott bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Abbott swings for the body but Emelianenko moves out of range.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Abbott really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Emelianenko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

You can see the frustration on Abbott's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Emelianenko is trying to ground and pound but Abbott uses the momentary lack of control by Emelianenko to regain half guard.

Abbott throws a front kick aimed at Emelianenko's knee but Emelianenko avoids it well.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Emelianenko throws a body punch but Abbott moves out of range.
Emelianenko shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Abbott defends it nicely.
Abbott takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Emelianenko ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Emelianenko has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Abbott is trying to keep an underhook but Emelianenko manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Abbott is looking to get back to full guard here but Emelianenko has managed to pass to side control instead.

Emelianenko connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Abbott's hands.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

That has opened up Tank Abbott's cut even more.
Emelianenko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Abbott.

Emelianenko escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Abbott throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Emelianenko lands with an uppercut that bounces Abbott off the cage and back into rage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Abbott takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Abbott avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Emelianenko.
Emelianenko lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Abbott down.
