Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kalle Kolmiokuristus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter comes to the ring accompanied by La Roux - In For The Kill. Kolmiokuristus has chosen bad boy - cascada as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice combo by Carter! Oh, that's hurt him - Kolmiokuristus falls to the canvas and Carter follows him into side control.

It looks like Kalle Kolmiokuristus has been cut.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Kolmiokuristus is looking for a triangle but Carter pushes his legs off easily.
Carter stands and throws Kolmiokuristus's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Kolmiokuristus wants to control but Carter is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Carter seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kolmiokuristus does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Carter thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kolmiokuristus's head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kolmiokuristus looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Carter is fending him off so far but Kolmiokuristus persists. Nope, Carter circles away and we're back to standing.

Kolmiokuristus misses with a takedown attempt - Carter sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Mike Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kalle Kolmiokuristus.

Kolmiokuristus closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carter to the mat! Carter manages to get full guard.
Kolmiokuristus wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving.
Carter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
