Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bert River (ranked 2646 p4p, 1483 weight class) and Lewis Burwell Puller (ranked 287 p4p, 179 weight class). River comes to the cage accompanied by Five Finger Death Punch- Bad Company. Puller has chosen Hello as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bert River!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lewis Burwell Puller!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Dmitry Maklakov and Fedor Mirinova.

River fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Puller is out of range.
Puller tries to clinch up but River circles away and keeps his distance.

River on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Puller's coach down at 3Band MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Puller's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

No joy there for Puller, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

River is trying to trip Puller. He has hold of a leg but Puller is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. River persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Puller wants to stand and escape but River is having none of it.
River lands a couple of decent looking shots.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as River accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Puller wants to stand but River is controlling the position.
Puller can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as River controls the pace.
River in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bert River will probably get the nod.

and River counters with a nice low kick that buckles Puller's knee momentarily.

River is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Puller is keeping busy.
Lewis Burwell Puller seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

River has clasped his hands together around Puller's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Puller wants to get back to his feet.

Puller is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if River gets his way!

River is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Puller knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Puller for a finish.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

River has got his arm under Puller's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Puller has spun round into River's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

River is looking to cinch up a triangle. Puller throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to River's body to avoid the submission. River has instead reached around Puller's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! River arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Bert River!
Bert River spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
In defeat, Lewis Burwell Puller stepped up to the mic, saying 'It was not my night. Congratulations to my opponent. You were the better man tonight. You just gave me the ultimate motivation.'.
