PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Wamberto Boaz (ranked 436 p4p, 169 weight class) and Yung Hung Dong (ranked 22 p4p, 9 weight class). Boaz comes into the arena with Preciso me encontrar blaring out of the sound system. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 17 - 1, fighting out of London, Wamberto Boaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yung Hung Dong!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and Phil Schofield.

Dong has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Boaz.
Boaz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dong manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Dong goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Yung Hung Dong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boaz throws a hook but Dong avoids it easily.
Dong appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Boaz swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Boaz will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Boaz has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Yung Hung Dong is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dong throws a sloppy head kick and Boaz moves out of range easily.

Boaz is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Dong's half guard.

Boaz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dong doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Boaz.
Dong has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Wamberto Boaz will probably get the nod.

Boaz is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Dong is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Boaz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
