Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darren Weeks (ranked 1645 p4p, 1701 weight class) and Justin Gaethje (ranked 213 p4p, 220 weight class). Justin Gaethje has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darren Weeks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Justin Gaethje!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Russell Pearce and Reed Andrews.

Weeks forces Gaethje back against the cage and clinches.
Weeks is looking for a takedown.
Weeks keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Gaethje's efforts to push away.
Gaethje tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

A nice inside leg kick there by Gaethje. That's going to slow Weeks down.

Weeks throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gaethje's waist but Gaethje gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Weeks off to one side.

Weeks thows a huge punch but Gaethje dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gaethje can do anything to dispel that myth.

Weeks seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Gaethje felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Weeks tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gaethje knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Weeks lands a brutal head kick. Gaethje looks out on his feet and Weeks throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
