Cruz lands a jab to Diotimus's midsection.
Diotimus shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Cruz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Diotimus gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Cruz to counter with a crisp jab.

Diotimus dives in and scores a takedown into Cruz's guard.

Diotimus tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Diotimus cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Diotimus takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Cruz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diotimus. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Diotimus is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Cruz is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Cruz flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Diotimus anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Cruz and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Diotimus slips an arm under Cruz chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Diotimus has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Diotimus is squeezing on Cruz like an anaconda would it's prey. Cruz fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
