PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Philip Ziskie (ranked 516 p4p, 1084 weight class) and Taylor Jack (ranked 70 p4p, 128 weight class). Jack has chosen Lucid Dreams as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Philip Ziskie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Taylor Jack!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.

Jack misses with the body kick

and Ziskie counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Ziskie trying to control the position from guard on top but Jack is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ziskie is stalling in the full guard.
Ziskie wants to control from the top but Jack keeps moving.

Ziskie drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jack looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jack looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jack!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jack decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ziskie to his feet.

Ziskie blocks a jab.
A little feinted left hand from Ziskie on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Jack forces Ziskie back against the cage and clinches.
Ziskie fails to pull guard.
Ziskie blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Jack is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Jack has a couple of punches blocked by Ziskie.

Ziskie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Taylor Jack is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Oooooh!!! Jack has knocked Ziskie down with a huge combo! Jack steps away and waves a wobbly Ziskie back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Philip Ziskie has been cut.

Jack scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Oh Ziskie is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ziskie on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Jack stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jack wants it to stay on the feet.

Jack dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ziskie. That did some damage!

Taylor Jack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jack turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

and Ziskie counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Ziskie bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ziskie feinted with a counter takedown.
Jack throws out a loose jab but Ziskie uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ziskie throws a quick counter kick to the body but Jack avoids it.
Ziskie moves forwards but Jack connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Jack lands a lovely overhand right.
Jack fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ziskie looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Jack throws a push kick but Ziskie slaps the foot to one side.
Ziskie drops down looking for a counter takedown but Jack sprawls and moves away.

An inside leg kick from Jack misses.
Jack is looking to score with low kicks.

Ziskie shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jack napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Ziskie goes for an armbar but Jack turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Jack.

Ziskie is looking to sweep but instead, Jack has passed into half guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Jack bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ziskie's head backwards.

Ziskie takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Jack does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jack has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ziskie finds it's way round the side to connect with Jack's head.

Ziskie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ziskie showed some decent athleticism there.

Taylor Jack is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Ziskie has gone for a leg lock! Jack slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ziskie's guard.

Ziskie looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jack has picked Ziskie up and slammed him! Ziskie can't keep hold of the triangle and Jack manages to pass to side control!

I've got Jack winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
