Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bert River (ranked 3113 p4p, 3156 weight class) and Mac Bandini (ranked 322 p4p, 326 weight class). River comes to the cage accompanied by Five Finger Death Punch- Bad Company. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bert River!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mac Bandini!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Sergei Dronov and Illya Tyunina.

Nice cross by Bandini.
River throws a front kick aimed at Bandini's knee but Bandini avoids it well.
River definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
River takes one to the side of the head.
Bandini looks for a takedown but River sprawls well.
Bandini feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Rivers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
River throws out a leg kick but Bandini moves out of range and River only half commits.
Bandini dives in for a single leg takedown but River sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

River's jab looks to have found its range, popping Bandini under the eye.

Bandini will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bert River has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mac Bandini.

River was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Bandini fakes high and swings low for a body shot but River manages to avoid it.

Bandini lunges at River with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by River's hand.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

River lands a couple of elbows.
River stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bandini swivels though and keeps the full guard.

River with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
River working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Bandini's head.
River won't allow Bandini to sweep him here.
River is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
River's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
River chips away with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bandini is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and River defends well.

River pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bandini is keeping the position for now.

Bandini throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! River escapes and throws Bandini's legs to the side, diving into side control!

River is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bandini knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That was a close round but I would say that Bert River will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Bandini tries to score a power double leg takedown but River sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bandini somewhat.
Bandini scores with a head kick. River tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Bandini has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
River buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Bandini might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
River paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

River looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Bandini!

Bandini explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Bandini is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

River has his foot on Bandini's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bandini works his way back into a safe position though.

River is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Bandini has his hands clasped together but River extends and breaks Bandini's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by River.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Bert River!
Bert River was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
