With a record of 29 - 26 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny Pearson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.

Pearson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
A cross from Whiplash lands.
Pearson throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Whiplash slips under a jab from Pearson.
Whiplash throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Pearson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Pearson throws a sloppy head kick and Whiplash moves out of range easily.
Pearson looks to land a left hand but Whiplash moved out of range nicely.
Pearson thuds his right hand into Whiplash's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
A telegraphed right hand from Pearson misses the target.
Pearson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Whiplash appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Whiplash throws a nice outside leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pearson on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

A telegraphed right hand from Pearson misses the target.
Johnny Pearson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice jab there from Pearson.
Pearson throws a push kick but Whiplash slaps the foot to one side.
Pearson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Whiplash.
Pearson misses with an uppercut
and Whiplash counters with a stiff right hand.
Pearson throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Whiplash throws a low kick but it's checked well by Pearson.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pearson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Whiplash moves away.
Whiplash with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Pearson to score with a decent uppercut.
Pearson misses with an uppercut.
Whiplash connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Pearson is rocked!
Pearson tries to work over Whiplash's front leg with a kick but Whiplash checks it.
Pearson is still on wobbly legs! Can Whiplash finish him?
Whiplash fakes the body blow, causing Pearson to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Pearson goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Snappy Whiplash!
Snappy Whiplash tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
