This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 7 losses; Caio Barbosa! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 7 losses; Shanti Anatta!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Anatta fails in his attempt to clinch.
Barbosa seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Barbosa looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Anatta is fending him off so far but Barbosa persists. Nope, Anatta circles away and we're back to standing.
And Anatta tries to counter it with a takedown but Barbosa pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Anatta tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Barbosa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Anatta looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Barbosa shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Anatta is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Barbosa rolls with it to try and escape but Anatta cranks on the arm and Barbosa is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

A very excited looking Shanti Anatta rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
Caio Barbosa was interviewed post fight and said 'I think he did very well and would like the chance to avenge this victory. '. |
