The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Varga swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Perez counters with a body kick that stops Varga in his tracks momentarily.
Varga misses with the combination.
Varga throws a big shot that misses.
Perez lands a front kick.

Perez dives in and scores a takedown into Varga's guard.

Perez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Perez is taking a breather. Varga says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Varga tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Perez cranks the arm and Varga screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Varga, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
