Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Beecher (ranked 1382 p4p, 60 weight class) and Aki Hiko (ranked 1468 p4p, 63 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Beecher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aki Hiko!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hiko just misses with a punch to the body.
Beecher misses with a straight right.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hiko.

Hiko throws an elbow but Beecher slips to the side and avoids it well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Beecher is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hiko's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hiko's back!

Hiko is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Beecher is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Beecher has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hiko wants to sweep here but Beecher controlling him for the moment.

That's time! Beecher's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

No joy there for Hiko, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Hiko fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Beecher is out of range.
Beecher lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Beecher tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hiko was well out of range. Poor timing from Beecher.

Nice straight punches there by Beecher. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Beecher.


It looks like Aki Hiko has been cut.

Hiko has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hiko dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Beecher. That did some damage!

Aki Hiko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hiko has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
