The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Nogueira tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Leal manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

I was talking to Nogueira's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Nogueira jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Leal walks away with a smile on his face. Nogueira gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nogueira tries to clinch up but Leal circles away and keeps his distance.
Leal looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nogueira dives in and grabs Leal's left leg, looking for a takedown. Leal pushes down on Nogueira's head and hops out.
Antonio Nogueira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nogueira tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Leal paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nogueira darts in trying to clinch
and Leal counters with a crisp right hand that drops Nogueira! Leal lets Nogueira back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

and Leal counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nathan Leal!
Nathan Leal was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
