Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Finn Vernon (ranked 24827 p4p, 744 weight class) and Gerhard Smakatron (ranked 4200 p4p, 504 weight class). Smakatron comes into a darkened arena with his song building. A Time For Action kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smakatron lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Smakatron on the wrong end of a nice hook.

It looks like Gerhard Smakatron has been cut.
Vernon takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Vernon jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Smakatron, as that shot connected.

The fighters circling - Vernon throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Smakatron moves out of range as Vernon strikes.
Smakatron misses with a body kick.
We've been informed that Smakatron has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
The crowd cheers as Smakatron lands an impressive looking overhand right. Vernon doesn't seem phased though.
Vernon throws a lazy uppercut
and Smakatron counters with a nice uppercut.
Vernon fails in his attempt to clinch.
Smakatron ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Smakatron steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
A solid leg kick lands there for Smakatron.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smakatron throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
The fighters circling - Vernon throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Vernon is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Smakatron's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Smakatron comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Vernon is breathing heavily.
Smakatron lands a jab.
Vernon tries to clinch up.
The fighters circling - Vernon throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Smakatron cracks the inside of Vernon's front leg.
Vernon wants to clinch up but Smakatron keeps it at a distance.
Smakatron slips under a jab from Vernon.
Vernon misses with a hook.
Vernon tries to clinch there but Smakatron circles away.
Smakatron appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Smakatron throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Vernon fails in his attempt to clinch.
As Vernon backs off Smakatron throws a huge counter combo but Vernon manages to avoid it all.
Finn Vernon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vernon throws an overhand right that lands on Smakatron's shoulder, as Smakatron tries to avoid the shot.
Smakatron is looking for the big counter here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smakatron lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Smakatron feints and then cracks Vernon's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Vernon down.

Vernon takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Finn Vernon's cut is getting worse.
The fighters circle momentarily. Smakatron darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Vernon throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Smakatron counters with a body kick.
Vernon walks straight into a right hand from Smakatron - that's dropped him! Smakatron jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Vernon from any more punishment! Vernon complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
