Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Evgeny Popov!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Urameshi scores with a jab.
Popov avoids the body shot from Urameshi.
Urameshi moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Popov doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Urameshi counters with a lovely shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Popov has a takedown stuffed.
A punch lands to the side of Popov 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Urameshi defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Popov.

Popov takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Urameshi lands a nice shot to the body.
Urameshi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Popov shoots in for a double leg but Urameshi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Yusuke Urameshi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Evgeny Popov.
Popov has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Popov there as he acknowledges the shot.
Popov takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Popov takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Urameshi scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Popov doesn't seem bothered though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Urameshi drops Popov with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Popov looks back up at him and smiles so Urameshi waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Popov is still on wobbly legs! Can Urameshi finish him?


It looks like Evgeny Popov has been cut.
Urameshi cracks Popov with a brutal left hook that knocks him out cold! This one is over in a flash! Game over!

Our winner, Yusuke Urameshi, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
