Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dave Brooksbank (ranked 3984 p4p, 374 weight class) and Emre Hussain (ranked 1469 p4p, 168 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dave Brooksbank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Emre Hussain!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Sosuke Kotani and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooksbank misses with a kick to the body.

Brooksbank bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Hussain throws Brooksbank to one side and escapes!

Hussain gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Hussain's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hussain has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Hussain scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Brooksbank doesn't seem bothered though.

We've been hearing good reports from Brooksbank's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Brooksbank is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Hussain knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Hussain for a finish.

Brooksbank is looking for the choke from the back position but Hussain is controlling his hands well.

Hussain is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.

Hussain defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Brooksbank.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hussain! But no joy.

That was a close round but I would say that Dave Brooksbank will probably get the nod.

Brooksbank shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Brooksbank was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hussain has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Emre Hussain showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Brooksbank has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hussain uses from the top position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dave Brooksbank.
I think Brooksbank has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
