Alatalo sends Bondarenko crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Alatalo is motioning to the referee to let Bondarenko up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tomislav Kralj.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sanada sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gracie somewhat.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but Sanada shows good takedown defense.
Sanada takes a swing at Gracie's ribcage but misses.
We've been told by Sanada's head coaches at Rings Russia that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Nice sprawl there from Sanada as Gracie shoots in.
Masa Sanada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Royce Gracie.
Sanada connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gracie. Gracie circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Sanada scores with a jab to the body.
Sanada fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sanada as he jumps to the side.
Gracie misses with a takedown
and Sanada counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Masa Sanada is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Gracie fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sanada connects with a body shot.
A jab lands there for Sanada.

Gracie shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sanada manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Gracie is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sanada seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Gracie throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Sanada lands with an uppercut that bounces Gracie off the cage and back into range.

Gracie dives in and scores a takedown into Sanada's guard.

Sanada is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Gracie presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Sanada lands a left hand that snaps the head of Gracie backwards.

Sanada gets underhooks to prevent Gracie's takedown attempt.
Sanada is working Gracie over against the cage.
Sanada has Gracie pressed against the cage.

Sanada circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Gracie tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Sanada wins by KO!
