The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bartlet changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boma tries to avoid it but Bartlet manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boma to the ground. Boma escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Boma is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Bartlet.
Bartlet will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Bartlet ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Boma tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bartlet throws a hook but Boma avoids it easily.
Bartlet throws out a leg kick but Boma moves out of range and Bartlet only half commits.
Boma seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Bartlet blocks a head kick by Boma.
Bartlet goes for a double leg but Boma avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Boma continues to drive forward.
Bartlet tries to land a body kick
and Boma connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bartlet misses with a takedown attempt
enabling Boma to counter with a crisp jab.
Oscar Boma has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josiah Bartlet.
Bartlet attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
As Bartlet tries to get set, Boma tries to push him back and clinch up but Bartlet manages to avoid the attempt.
Boma pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bartlet connects with a high kick.

Bartlet misses with a series of wild punches.
Boma seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Boma throws a low kick but Bartlet avoids it.
Boma drops Bartlet with a beautiful combination! Bartlet stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Boma is looking for the KO!
Bartlet is rocked!
It looks like Josiah Bartlet has been cut.
Boma seems to be stalking Bartlet here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastating head kick! Bartlet drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!

Bateman ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Bateman takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Utu misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bateman.
Utu bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Bateman's head backwards.
Utu really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Utu throws a lazy right hand but Bateman sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Bateman takes a swing at Utu's ribcage but misses.
Bateman misses with a looping left.
Bateman misses with a right hand
and Utu counters with a nice kick to the body.
Bateman on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Bateman walks into a straight right hand from Utu.
Utu uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Utu is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bateman.
A little jabbing left from Bateman on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Utu's corner calls for a 1-2. Utu obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Bateman fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Utu on the side of the head.
It looks like Rau Utu has been cut.
Bateman closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Bateman walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Utu checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Utu tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bateman was well out of range. Poor timing from Utu.
Utu is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Bateman swats away the attempt to clinch by Utu.
Bateman misses with a wild body shot.
Utu looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Bateman throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Rau Utu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Bateman misses with an uppercut.
Bateman gets tackled into the cage by Utu. Utu maintains the clinch.
Bateman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A chopping leg kick lands by Bateman.
Utu swings widly with a right hand
and Bateman counters with a nice uppercut.
Utu throws a front kick that sends Bateman stumbling back into the cage.
Bateman drops Utu with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Utu looks back up at him and smiles so Bateman waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Utu is rocked!
Rau Utu's cut is getting worse.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
BAM! Bateman delivers a spinning backfist that drops Utu like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!

Rau Utu spoke after the fight, saying 'This is what happens when u dont get a Hy Sckul diploma and have to continue fighting for a living even tho u "depoppin" like a bitch! I wont be around much longer...but here is a fart to remember me by...'.
