The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monkey slips a jab and a cross from Shields.
Sloppy strikes from Shields. Those never looked like landing.
Shields misses with a low kick as Monkey jumps back.
Shields throws a sloppy head kick and Monkey moves out of range easily.
Shields falls off balance throwing a combination

so Monkey counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Monkey working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Monkey working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Monkey wants to pass the guard but Shields is keeping the position.
Monkey chips away with some ground and pound.
Monkey loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Monkey throws an elbow that misses. Shields uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Monkey's guard. Nice move by Shields!
Shields might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Monkey is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

St pierre misses with a jab, cross combination.

Kringle darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
St pierre wants to get back to full guard.
Kringle stops St pierre from getting back to his feet.
Kringle drops an elbow to the side of St pierre's head.
We've been hearing good reports from Kringle's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
St pierre wants to improve his position but Kringle is controlling well.
Kringle lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Kringle takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

After winning the bout, Chris Kringle thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

Williams slaps away a takedown attempt from Riley, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Williams just misses with a punch to the body.
Riley bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Billy Riley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Riley closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Riley lands in his opponent's guard.
Riley wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving.

Riley is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Williams is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Williams has escaped and now he's on top!
Williams is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Williams stalks Riley and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Riley's face. Riley staggers backwards, shaken.
Williams is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Williams connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Riley's hands.

Williams fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Riley looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Riley shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Williams is trying to defend but Riley finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Williams lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Riley or not.

Williams keeps control of Riley as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

The fighters circling - Williams throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Riley will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Horrible takedown by Riley or perhaps it was just good defense by Williams which made him look bad.

Williams will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Williams lands a nice hook to Riley's body. Riley takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Williams lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Riley shoots in for a takedown but Williams shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Williams scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Riley doesn't seem bothered though.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Williams lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Riley takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Riley closes the distance and clinches up with Williams, looking for a takedown. Riley pushes Williams against the cage but Williams circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Williams throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Riley.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnson dives in and scores a takedown into Tulppu's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Johnson throws a strike but Tulppu rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Tulppu wants to stand but Johnson is controlling his posture from full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Teppo Tulppu just wasn't active enough.
Johnson thuds a left hand into Tulppu's body.
Tulppu misses with a few strikes there.
The fighters circling - Johnson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Tulppu steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Johnson.
Tulppu takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Tulppu is breathing heavily.

Johnson feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Tulppu sprawling to the canvas! Tulppu rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Johnson finish him?!

It looks like Teppo Tulppu has been cut.
Johnson measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Tulppu! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Chubby Johnson!
After the big win, Chubby Johnson made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Zombie Nutrition - LOD and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.

Boy shoots in for a takedown but Amavimus shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Boy has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Hardcore Elite Private Gym in the buildup to the fight.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Boy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cosh Boy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Amavimus lands with a cross.
Amavimus lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

It looks like Cosh Boy has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
